record from Levi and Sarah Tyler in 1883. Mason indicates "12 MAR 1812 Harden

BLALOCK signs marriage agreement with Margaret JOHNSON in Barnwell South

Carolina" - she was married before to William Johnson - he died of disease -

they had children (first marriage), there may be more information in the

marriage agreement.

was living with Levi & Sarah Blaylock in Lawrence Co. MS in 1830.

Harden must have died there.  He married (1) Mason Long who died in

1912 when he married (2) Mrs. Margaret Johnston who died in 1822 in

Edgefield County S. C.  It must have been after Margaret Johnston's

death that Harden, along with Levi and Sarah migrated to Mississippi."

A letter from Cora Lee Blaylock dated April 30, 1939 says "Bet Joiner was

a Spinster lady who died June 16,1890, and was buried at Prospect."

Diane J. Cole in a letter received October 12, 1999 indicated "The fifth child of William and Sarah

Blaylock Joiner was Elizabeth (Betsy) Joiner. She and James Beckwith applied for a marriage license,

June 29, 1848 but there is no record of the marriage taking place. James Beckwith married Agnes

Gridwell on November 27, 1848 - only five months after he and Elizabeth were to be married. There is no

record of Elizabeth Joiner being married to anyone else. She was the mother of two sons."

Diane Joiner Cole indicated in a telephone conversation October 21, 1999 that a relative of about 90

years of age told her that "Betsy" also had a girl. Diane has not been able to find verification of this.
